My heater will not give out any heat at all. And the temperature needles does not lift at all when drive but when left ticking over it rises to the first point after the blue part. Any ideas it dose have coolant.

try swapping the coolant temp sender on like 3 quid because the engine will obviously be getting hot, but the blue wire on the xe gets corroded easily and gives crap reading, i have had to replace about half a meter up the loom they have been so bad!, as for the matrix. sounds blocked with something, get a hose and take the pipes that go on to the engine and jam a hose in there and turn on the hose and flush it both directions. make sure you see no white gunk anywhere as its may be oil clogging it up. a
