Due to the low light conditions and using macro mode (close up) I am having issues with the depth of field (how much of the pic is in focus) - Ade maybe able to assist on this matter

I was using close up as its only about 7cm long !

Not bad pics there bud, your camera must be pretty damned good as you can see your fingerprints on the wings and on the rear screen lol

I'm not saying he is, but what if Joff was a murderer and he was nailed from a fingerprint on a 1/43 scale model he posted on a Nova site. lol

How he would rue this day!

I've murdered a few songs at karaoke and have murdered some bunnies and birds when driving, but nothing that the police need to have my finger prints!

Keep an eye on this thread as Joff will probably have it stripped to a shell and fitted with a scale replica of a let and painted blue in oh, about four years if his nova build thread is to be taken as a normal scale lol

Lol four years? I thought it was a lot longer than that? It felt longer anyway!

EDIT - Thats a point, hows ADE getting on?!

Joff. i was looking at getting a 70-300 lense for my nikon. (pervy lense)
my brother has one, and i have had a play and i must say its awesome.

something i find with my nikon (i take it yours is a DSLR) when i wanna take a close up pic, is to stand back, and zoom in by twisting the lense. always works wonders for me.

for example: the below image im sure i did as mentioned above. the thread that i tapped was i think a 3/8 fine thread so bloody small lol.

You'll need to decrease your aperture size by increasing the f/#. You've taken those at f/5.6 so try increasing to around f/9 for starters. You'll need the camera in Aperture priority mode, AV, in order to change this setting, if the pics look blurry it may be due the shutter having to stay open for a while and there being some shake (assuming you're handheld and not tripod). If this is the case then increase the iso# until it is quick enough. ISO800 should give fairly noise free images whilst increasing shutter speed sufficiently.

Nice mdoel, only thing that lets them down IMO is the fact the rear lights are totally wrong, Minichamps ones are near enough spot on

Looks like a cracking camera though, detail is unbelievable :thumb:

The manual I have is in Japanese, so I have downloaded the English version.

I did a quick skim through to get me going but now need to get familiar with how to manipulate the aperture, ISO and shutter speed to get the results I'm after.

Before this camera (a Canon EOS 500D) the previous SLR I used was a Minolta 35mm jobbie. Your film dictated the ISO so all you had to do is change the apperture and shutter speed and away you go ! I had a nice 75-300mm zoom which was pretty versitile.

The current lens is an 18-55mm standard lens, but I am looking at either the 55-250mm zoom or 70-300mm zoom. The latter being about £100 more on the bay which is quite a lot !

When I get the zoom I'll give the close up photo's a go again.
