Afraid not.
Going docs to do some breathing exercises to find out if i've got asthma.
Then off to the funeral directors to help sort my Grans cremation.
i can see why you are down...
i suggest a can of cheap lemonade & a sherbert fountain.... making comedy burps is always a good way of cheering people up... and its usually less messy than tons of alcohol & monkey sex
Im still employed as I was before xmas and I still hate hate hate my job.
Nothing for me to go into atm coz im not really trained for anything else.
I am grateful that I have a job though
its a bad time of year for being down... just hold on till the sun shines.

I'd just like a job full stop, The government have decided that after the entire 10 years of my daughters life, she isn't disabled anymore!!!
So her money/benefits are about to be stopped........I shall refrain from what i would really like to say as it's before the water shed....

how does that work then ???
i knew a couple who's daughter had had complications during labour, and they were claiming an incredible amount of stuff, and when they told us what the daughter apparently had, including severe autism, i basically worked out that she shouldn't be able to hold a conversation with anyone, yet she was apart from being a bit skinny & maybe 2 years behind in schooling, aged 14, she was an annoying teenager..... they had the house extended & a motability car.....
i guess you simply aren't taking the piss out of the system like some people do......
i work pretty long hours and always find it weird how i get bored as soon as i cut my hours to get more time off, but as soon as I start doing plenty hours again I wish I had more time off lol

most jobs you have a company medical now, we have one every 3 years

I know a couple with the same problem, government cut backs gone wrong IMO, I'm all for cutting the benefit cheats but not the people who actually need it.
The couple i know are appealing agaisnt the decision, can you not appeal as well ?

Our place wouldn't care long as you don't die on shopfloor, probably sack you for that to avoid the compensation payouts lol

My daughter has left sided hemi-plegia, which is a form of cerebral palsy, caused by brain damage in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy. Also bowel problems caused by paralysis.
She is paralysed down her left side. She walks with the aid of a splint for her leg, but it's her left arm/hand that is rendered useless.
We did have a motability car for 3 yrs from her ages 3-6 as her mobillity was not the best.
It was then decided that as she can walk 100 metres she no longer qualifies for the mobility allowance.
She did get DLA( disability living allowance) due to needing help with all personal issues such as dressing, bathing, toileting, cutting food up etc...basically anything that 2 hands is needed for.
This is what is due to stop next month, and i'm guessing my carers allowance will be binned off also...

Edd......i had them look at it again and the decision was not changed........this was on evidence from a GP we have only had 3 months and has yet to even see my daughter...
I am about to make a phone call now to find out exactly why and to ask for an appeal form, this will be the last step.
Edited to add.............sorry NovaLad for the slight hijack of your thread.... :0)
I'm enjoying my last week left at work before maternity leave starts on Friday. I'm hoping I won't be too bored though as will be getting the new house sorted out and by the time thats done I should have a screaming bundle of joy to keep my occupied lol

That'd be what the angle grinder is for, obviously the plug socket means it's getting an engine conversion lol
Thankyou for making me feel SO much better haha. I did say to Burgo last night i'm dreading what they both get upto when he's old enough to get around. lol

Feck all. Possibly losing my job due to a parent complaining that I apparently swore at her child. Complete boll0cks if you ask me, but hey, I gotta hope my boss gives me my shifts back :/
/\ explain that one..................how did you get in a situation where someone claimed you swore at a child...?

I work as a marshall at Buckmore Park Kart Circuit.
/\ explain that one..................how did you get in a situation where someone claimed you swore at a child...?
We do birthday parties for kids etc etc.
I didn't even know a complaint was put in til last week.
But basically, I've been told that two parents have complained, saying I said to one kid "Take your foot off the f*cking pedal" and called another one a "d!ickhead"...
Total bullsh!t if you ask me, I don't swear in front of kids... Especially ones at work knowing this is the sort of crap that can happen. I want to keep my job, I have a nova to run (lol) and I can't do that without this job.
Really getting me down.
unless there was a written complaint, and the parents were prepared to come to a tribunal, i'm certain it was an illegal dismissal....
we've all been at kart tracks & seen parents get all crazy about their child doing better....
we've also seen the young lad at the front in the briefing who is actually giving a really professional talk and giving the whole experience a feel of a real race...
i can't believe anyone would swear like that to kids.

Well my boss had a bit of paper in front of him that he referenced to when he quoted me what it said about said swear words... So I don't know if it was an actual written complaint or not.
However, I'm over a barrel, there is nothign I can do to force the issue, because if I go for unfair dismissal etc, then all he will turn around and say is we haven't fired him, we cancelled his shifts until further notice. Basically forcing me to resign. Also I'm on what's known as a temporary contract, (don't work don't get paid). So I don't know quite what to do atm.
i assume you have name badges...
TeddyThom
11-01-11, 05:55 PM
Nope no name badges, but an apparently good description...
so these people didn't bother to have a go at you there & then, or with the manager??? probably an attempt at a discount....or some vouchers..
the problem with these things is that if you did get your old job back, would you want to work for such a gang of prats after being sacked???? he probably had a nephew or a mates son who wanted a job.
But basically, I've been told that two parents have complained, saying I said to one kid "Take your foot off the f*cking pedal" and called another one a "d!ickhead"...
Odd, it's normally "take your foot off the fcuking pedal, dickhead" so it should have been the same kid. Or, if like me you can't shout particularly loud, you slap their feet off it lol
edit: I don't do the cadet days though lol

Crap time for trying to get a job, shifts are few and far between due to it being the dead season. I want my job back due to the money, I can survive working for them.

lol I was thinking it, but knowing what muppets I work for, I daren't say it.
I want to get into a garage or something, but with a few months of college left my prospects are still crap.
Nope no name badges, but an apparently good description...

I'll quite agree I'm hardly inconfcukingspikuos (sp?) like.
But yeah, on the other side of the coin, it is now official. I'm back to being an unemployed bum:/
Told me he can't give me my shifts back "in case it happens again"
Whatever happened to looking after your own?? I lost money due to shifts being cancelled, I would've thought that would have been punishment enough...
you mean... "Well, where'd you lose him? He ain't a set of ****ing car keys, is he? And it ain't as if he's incon-****ing-spicuous now, is it?"

mmm yeah released in 93, I would have been 5, our first PC definitely had windows 95 on it and it was a family thing, my first console was a playstation a little bit after that so 96ish maybe... it was probably rather outdated by the time I started playing computer games.
So, I'm not that old :p

Doom, as in the game, was cool. I have heard a tale about some bored Unix sysadmins who created a doom-based graphical representation of their server; all the imps and stuff were processes, different guns did different stuff. Believe the BFG did a Kill -9 on all visible processes lol
Doom, the movie, was about as much fun as having my nut removed via my anus with only the use of a rusty spoon

I honestly can't remember mate, just remember playing it on my mates Pentium 75 lol. or was it on the 486. Can't remember.
I do remember getting a Pentium II 233mhz with 32mb ram for my birthday, cost like £1300 and my Gran gave me £150 to get a Voodoo 3dfx card. Put half-life on and it looked amazing, all my friends were so jealous lol.
Dungeon Keeper was another good game
