depends how far u wanna go
first off u hsould at the very least follow MC's tuning guide
http://www.novaload.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66761
and if your more serious
http://www.novaload.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=75061
if your la=zy and cant be arsed reading all that:
GTE exhaust system including manifold
cam(which uve done)
either a SR carb and 1300 manifold OR twin 40's on 1300SR manifold depending on how far u wanna take it
the next step would be head work and thats aobut it without spending real big bucks - money that would be better spent on a larger engine

twin 40's don't and won't fit on a 1.3 manifold. they have a special manifold that goes straight into the Head as explained Here (http://www.novaload.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=75061).

FS
to fit Twin 40's to a 1200 u need a 1300 manifold
NOT a 2E3 manifold, a twin 40's manifold but for a 1300 like i said
there are also 1400 and 1600 manifolds but these aint gonna fit right and since the 1200 has the same ports as a 1300 u need a 1300 MANIFOLD

personally i agree with rob.
unless the engine is a low milage one i wouldnt bother with extensive mods because it will put too much strain on the engine and with the money you spend on modding the engine you could be put towards a 1300/1400 engine conversion.

gah folk say this over and over but i'd look at it this way
if im driving a standard sr or gte and get munched by a 1.2 thats had the knackers tuned outta it then im gonna be mighty impressed and a little pissed me bigger engine couldnt win
also most of the tuning parts can be EASILY transfered to a larger engine at a later date - so its not as tho he's wasting money is it
what sort of performance wud a highly tuned 1.3SR get? when i say tuned i mean cam, port polished head, perfromance manifold, super/turbocharged, twin 40s? GSI eater?

well i just got offered a 1.3 courteney turbo. it was running 16psi and had about 120 bhp altho that may not be accurate as when the boost kicked it it usually jumped off the rollers. thats had a lot of work done on it tho. dunno how much power gsi is standard but i imagine tiny bit less, say about 110bhp maybe. so not really "gsi muncher" material but a good contender. and i spose it would be lighter. with a good gearbox and clutch etc may do it in a straight line. then work on the brakes and suspension and body work etc, and with the engine being lighter it should do it through the corners.......

I got my cams off a mate so dont have a clue what type they are. Im hopefully getting either a 1.6 or 2 litre conversion next year, depends on insurance though cos im only 18. Let me know if you know where i can get an engine.
