Gearbox help!

Hi all,

I have a Corsa V6 and the gear is getting stuck in 5th gear and won't come out.

There is a Cavalier 1.7 TD getting broke near me would the 5th gear selector from that fit in an F20 or F18?

are you sure its not the linkage caught on something??

I would say its a case of linkage not being set up properly

Its not the linkages there OK. I have stripped the gear box, the 5th gear end cover plate I took it off and it looks like the 5th gear selector is jamming. I have took it off and put it back and worked for 1 day and it is stuck again. I am just wanting to know if this part off a Cavalier 1.7 TD has the same selector as there is a one getting broke near me. I would show a picture but I cannot put them up yet.

did you strip the box in the car or out? if you looked at it still in the car the linkage may still be stuck causing it too look like its jamming?

i believe the cav td is an f18, so it should be ok.

I stripped the box in the car. I took the 5th gear selector out and it looks like it has went blue with heat. When I was trying to engage reverse and when the car was going backwards it was locking up. Does anyone know where to get F20 or F18 around Newcastle?

pretty much every scrap yard will have a skip full of engines & gearboxes, and loads should be gm.

Is this a direct replacement? Is the clutch the same as an F20?

the td box would be higher geared as a guess, but it should be a straight swap.
