HE seems pretty certain about sellin for ?1G, it reads ?1000 - no offers.. but wil trry to knock him down. Im trying to knock some cash together, my cars up for sale, and sellin loadsa otha stuff just hope its guna b worth it. Its 1993, well serviced but 130k on the clock, wat wud u do?
Ive checked out n its wheels alone r worth ?400 wiv new tyres so maybe t is a gud deal.. ive jus learnt to always b suspicious.. hmm
What ya fink? 130K...1993

the only bad thing i would possibly say, is tht cos it is a modded nova, and if the chap is also young, then it mita bin hammered a bit. BUT sayin that there aint many that aint! Sounds like a good price anyways! :D

130k seems steep for what u pay, my 1.3sr (89) has done 138k and i'm only wanting about ?750 for it

unless ur planning on junking the engine soon i'd reccomend making sure its in decent enough nick

start it from cold and make sure it aint chucking out blue or white smoke, then run it for a good drive and make sure its still ok once its warmed up a bitty

would also reccomend changing the cam belt as soon as u get it unless uve got some service history showing its been changed in the last 30k -(another think u can use to knock the price down)

also check the usual areas for rust and when u find some u can get more off - corners of the slam panel are one area - just give em a good tap with your finger - will prolly colapse if they are rusty, battery tray is another along with the rear boot floor, bottom edges of the doors, inner wings just beside battery and same place at the other side

use any faults at all to get money off - brake shudder at 50mph = warped disks or dodgy track rod ends, car pulling to one side under breaking is dodgy caliper or badly adjusted rears

most of these are small issues but u can use em to get money off it :D

Ahhhh. i didnt see the 2nd post with the 130k bit on it. thats to high i would say, it wont really last much longer i wouldnt have thought, surely. even if its beenreally well maintained. My dad has a 2.0 16v (i know its a diff engine, but they say biger engines last longer) and its always going wrong! and its well looked after! so 130 is to high i would say for that price. Mines only done 70 n im gonna try n get a grnad for mine. i think even tht is pushin it a bit!

mines done 140ish K with no service for 2 years and its still going well.

take the oil filler cap off and look at the cam lobe thast visible, its its severly worn then you can knock some dosh off, if its not worn then thats an indicator that the engine is in reasonable condition

these engines take a beating and ask for more lol

Older Vauxhalls have been known to go on for ages.

My Dad's 88 Astra went for 202k, no major prolems up until he got rid of it.
My Brother's 92 Astra is still going strong on 163k, again no major problems.
My Yellow 86 1.0 Nova had 104k and drove sweetly, until it died. Hmm not good.

Ive just been lookin at standard novas and for the same price i can get a very low milage same age nova... but without 400quid wheels and the other mods.. basicly im payin for a nice lookin car wiv loada mods, but high milage.. risky, not sure wata do.. ive just put my car up for sale today... ive definately got the urge to get a newer car now.. im guna be doin some longish distance driving this summer to cornwall so want car to be reliable.. hmmmm.. im so confused!!!!!

i paid ?1200 for mine, as it is, modded quite a bit.......

80k on a 1.4 SR engine, low mileage, i thought this was a fair price
