Right I was looking in my Haynes manual having a wee flick through it and noticed it said that my corsa b can be run on super unleaded, it's a 1.2 8v sohc, will it make a difference if any at all. Many thanks matt :thumb:

Yeah thought that, 134.9 a litre, would the engine run any better at all

No it wouldnt make any difference at all bud, youd just be wasting the extra pennies, so just stick to normal ron fuel:thumb:

Cheers for the info mate, also another random question concerning my car, I am going to change the spark plugs, what would be my best bet single or double electrodes, heard doubles help them run a bit better

They can give a better spark but not a lot will make much difference to a 1200, just regular servicing will be your best bet, you could fit twin electrode ones if you like as i spose a better spark in theory will burn the fuel better, but it wont give you any noticable difference!

That's all good just have to collect my fuel filter, rocker gasket and engine flush, cause the breather pipe blocked up with gunge and now its in the oil as you know, so a good service will do it good, with vauxhall parts of course :thumb:

With spark plugs, put whatever its meant to have in it, genunie ideally. Dealt with so many problems due to the wrong spark plugs being fitted

Twin electrode plugs just last longer, they dont really have no other benefit.

Twin/quad electrodes are a false economy as it can only spark off one electrode in any case

if you look at the nova owners manual, the bhp figs are with ron 98 fuel lol

Is it ok to put super unleaded in with unleaded fuel, also would any of you know if this would fit a 1.2 8v, the fella selling it didn't know, eBay number 200560675501

Should do. Mixing fuels is fine, but bear in mind it "dilutes" the octane.

As said, absolutely no point putting 97-99RON in a NA engine.

Ok, very little point unless it has big power to begin with.

On a 1000-1600 GM engine running sub 100bhp, you'd probably only gain at best maybe 3 or 4bhp at the top by advancing the timing

I was just thinking of something like a tb'd engine thats been mapped on 97-99ron.
Nothing do with the op of the thread, but meh,Lol.
