Head torques

Doe's anybody know the correct tightening torques for the cylinder head on my 8v 1.2 J reg nova.

get a haynes book for reference, its worth it

Torque the head down to 18 lb foot
turn a further 60 degrees stage 1
turn a further 60 degrees stage 2
turn a further 30 degrees stage 3
turn a further 30 degrees stage 4
let the engine warm up and then turn a further 30 degrees. stage 5
when torquing the head you have to start in the centre and work your way out. Good luck!

ive only ever torqued mine 18lb

then three lots of 60 degrees tuyrns

(to makr 180 in total)

perhaps i never read the fifth stage in my haynes :? :lol: :roll:

same as that mike.
i always torque 18lb then 60 degrees x 3. and the third is supposed to be after the engine is warm. and that is main dealer instructions

opps meant to say the last 60 gets split into 30 x 2 so its
