are the exhaust manifolds the same for all the nova 8v engines. i have a gte engine and have found a 4 branch manifold thats come off the SR 1.4
thanks

physically it will fit, but it won't have a lambda sensor which i believe the GTE has...

Yer the 1.4 8v and 1.6 8v will be the same. They do change but at which engine size I'm not sure

Some of them come with a hole you can plug it into, not sure if the 1.4 one will have it though, check it before you buy.

Phunky - All 8v manifolds are exactly the same fitment, even the 2.0 8V is the same I THINK. but everything below that definately fitsother than 1.0

an SR manifold WON'T have a hole for a lambda sensor or plug, and Lewi a 2.0 is a big block so the port spacings are different

Neither will a GTE engine, and if happens to be the later GSI, all it needs is a lambda boss welding in.

It is possible to weld a nut to the manifold then drill a hole in the center to mount the sensor. Not the best way but it works.

forget what I said lol

i didnt think about the lambda sensor and i know the gte has one :(
cheers for the help though
ps what is a lambda boss?

GTE engines (E16SE) do not have a lambda sensor, only the later gsi (aug 93+) C16SE engines will.

So the 20.8v ports are different to the smallblock ones ?

I wasnt sure if there was a difference or not but looks like thats cleared up now :thumb:

A lambda boss is basically a threaded insert you can weld in to the manifold to allow fitting of a lambda sensor. Fairly easy job, about a fiver for the boss

cool ill have to ask my bro to do that for me :)

I've welded lambda bosses in before as my rolling road needs them to put sensor in. Its peace of cake. I think the manifold I'm selling has lambda boss in already, il have to check
