hello im looking in buyin a four branch for a c20xe which will i get the best gains from 4,2,1 Or 4,1 ??

4-2-1 imo 4-1 shift the power too far up the rev range, I had a Magnex (4-1)and the car felt flat until 4 grand

4-2-1 is better if the primaries are all the same length. A lot of the 4-1's have unequal length primaries which drains power to the point that a factory manifold is probably 7-10hp better!

As Graeme says, 4-1's are also better for high revving engines though they don't "shift" the power as much as operate inefficiently at lower revs, hence the "appearance" of being flat to 3500-4000rpm.

Janspeed ain't a patch on how they were 20+ years ago. They make cheap stuff these days.
