I don't see the fascination with these cars but I have no interest in drifting, I think they are ugly but I do have a disliking for most Japanese cars

Decent power, RWD (when most cars were switching to FWD) and good weight distribution made it stand out from the rest of the dullsville Corolla lineup. Kinda like the Cav Turbo 4x4 being compared to the rest of the boring cav lineup

its whole motorsport pedigree is based on the fact that it was the only 1600 rwd car in a class of fwd ones...... its engine was not exactly the most tuneable in its day.

Young kid delivers Tofu in his dad's Corolla, falls in love with incestuous young girl, races some guys in FC3S' and R32's down moutain roads whilst remaining totally nonchalant about the entire situation.

Sprinkle in a consistently drunk Tofu shop owner; fat useless kid who can't drive but works at his dad's petrol station and buys the wrong car; a few lingering shots of a glass of water and you've got a movie.

Lest we forget the car is actually depicted as being a bit slow and generally inferior to the RX-7 (I can't give reason without spoiling the film though!)

As for the air restrictor, that was the 205; the 165 and 185 pretty much took the championship away from the Integrale every year bar one lol
