i have just broke my engine mount - yay
i have just been quoted ?53.90 for a new one - in my opinion this is extorsion
does any one know where i can get one cheaper than that from in the next couple of days as my alternator is now grinding on the tie bar mount

the mount that has gone is the drivers side (chassis side) mount - the encased rubber one.
i need one desperately so any help is well apprieciated

recommend you pay the cash and fix it. Its just gonna put pressure on other parts - hope yer not driving the car!

You tried a local motor factors - theyre usually cheaper than Vaux.

But with Vaux you pay for the name/quality 0 in most cases...

I brought all 3 mounts from TAS about 2 months ago for ?104. The difference is Awesome. Vaux wanted ?150 for the 3!!! :-(

get one from a scrappy, but in the short term, wire it up using fencing wire.

proper farmers fencing wire is really thick and strong, use this as a brace to hold the engine up and use the proper fencing tool to twist the wires tight to bring the engine back up to where it should be instead of fowling the chassis
