Hi all thought i would start this thread to show some of the changes that i have made to my nova.
I bought the car in july 2009 i dont have any pics of when i first bought it but i have some pics from shortly after heres a couple:)

Anyway when i first bought it there was a c20xe fitted along with R1 bike carbs and MBE management, now the not so good bitslol it had a chavey sunstrip which went straight away, also the car is fully stripped out and it had a small race type steering wheel which i didnt like so that had to straight away and in its place went the standard steering wheel from my old SRi. That was how it stayed for the rest of 2009, i enjoyed a few months of B road blasts and had lots of fun:)
here it is after a good clean and polish

I went to york raceway in October 2009 had my first bash on the 1/4 mile only managed a 14.6 was hoping for abit quicker but i will have another go some other time any way on my last run down on the day i snapped the drivers side engine mount and put a little dint outwards on my bonnet, this was it for 2009 it got parked up in my lock up for the winter.

Right over the winter i got the engine mount sorted gave it a bit of a service and i started useing it again in March 2010 the only things that got changed this year was the GTE grill badge added
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/15062010435.jpg

and the c20xe inside sticker was added

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/14032010355.jpg

And then i came across a problem i was out in it went to overtake a line of cars i took right through 3rd and 4th and put it in 5th and when i came back on the power it was running on 3 and the carbs was popin i thought oh ****lol i drove the car steady home. Anyway a mate of mine looked in the engine with a bore scope? i think they call it, he found the problem the valves on number 3 werent closeing properly and took the rocker cover off and went through the top not takein the head off and my friend found the problem a broken valve spring,
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/19062010444-1.jpg

with this now sorted all was good again and i used the car most weekends and had more fun then about september time my daily driver was off the road so i was useing the nova daily for a week and it started useing alot of water then i noticed oil in the water, it has a gm head so i am guessing the head has gone porus so i have gathered up a early coscast one from a 20xe. Heres my water what i drained outlol

I havent been a fan of having it fully stripped out so i wanted to make a few more changes maily to the inside so here is how it has been since i bought it,
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/07112010534.jpg

just a bit to much gone for me and i havent been a fan of the seats or harnesses

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/07112010536.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/07112010533.jpg

So i started with fitting the seats from my old SRi

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/07112010541.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/07112010540.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/07112010542.jpg

I preffer these seats and it feels a much better driving position anyway was still not real happy with the lack of dash so i got a good mate of mine to tackel the wireing and fit me a mk2 dash from my old SRi which wasnt the best of jobs to do the wireing took a while, the heater had to be swapped for the standard nova one but there was loads of wires running through where it should go, so they all had to be moved and re routed which did take a while but my mate has done a good job i am happy also before the dash got fitted it also had a internal shifter fitted which i do prefair:) anyway heres how it sits now

This is how it is now, next job when the weather gets abit warmer is the head needs sorting, also i have a full exhaust incuding manifold which came from Oli Hewitt (trackdaynova) so with the head coming off the exhaust will be getting fitted then, also thinkin of geting some arp rod bolts and a baffeled sump while i am on. I will hopefully have all this done by the end of March then i will start useing it again and have more fun:)

My plans for the future is the battery is goin to be back in the proper place under the bonnet and then i want the bottom lips and the side skirts painting the proper colour i think there is to much silver it should break it up nicely, also i am hopefully havin the half cage from my mate who owns this
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/brodie_sri/12062010433.jpg
and hopefully i want to get myself along to some of the shows this year:thumb:

Thats all for now folks but i will update any changes and keep posting my progress:thumb:

Wooo bout time you pulled your finger out and got yourself a work thread up, i think you should throw on your doorcards and a spot of front carpet aswell bud, would finish off the interior nicely, and please ffs give the dash a clean, and to think you used to be a valeter lol

Err message Asa, as he was selling one for £200 notes!

(i canrnt spell very well lol ) Yeah the shell isnt the best of shells there is a hole on the chassie leg it looks like the alternator has been moving and has rubbed through, his brother has a white mk3 astra gsi that also has a let in,

Yeah i heard the gsi shell was in abad way, cant believe the alt has rubbed through the leg, lucky it didnt set on fire!! It looks really nice though!
I think mine was a bit of bad luck but i was pulling away from a focus st after chasing it from just outside of pickering all the way here, and blew 4 litres of oil all over him/the road when it went bang lol
Still it will be back soon hopefully.
