Does anyone know what alloy wheels are worth for scrap.

I've got about 4 sets, all of which need to go but arenjt worth selling.......

Was wondering if its worth weiging them in or putting them on ebay listed a buckled.

Any thoughts?

Most scrappys will pay between 7 to 10 an alloy near me, I got shot of a few old wheels a few weeks ago, nothing special just standard Ford and a few seat wheels.

I know prices can vary with places but its best to ask you local scrap merchant

If you shop around you can find some places offering £1300 a tonne.

Don't waste your time and money listing them on EBAY, just weigh them in.

just another thing to do before weighing in is knock out the metal insert where the stud/bolts go as some wheels have these and they will class it as dirty alloy..:thumb:

I weighed some wheels in a few back ago, i asked if it was better if i knocked those inserts out, the guy didn't seem to have a clue what i was on about.

I got 90p a kg, i had about 13 old wheels so was happy enough.

weighed them all in last weekend and got £1 per kilo so sounds like a fair average to me
