well got the xe running etc, iv not connected breather pipes up to anything yet.
theres only the two on the rocker cover i need to do something with. whats best to do?

also a link to a video there, the first try of starting it up you can here it be fine then struggle, some times its fine then some times it does that.

connected all bit back up earlier and it turned over fine and fired up fine aftre had it running i shut it off then tried again and it started doing that again (like the first bit in the vid) then when you back off the key/starter i seen the engine spin backwards only a small bit but whats causing this?

Compression/cam springs etc etc will be causing it to spin backwards... bearings must be good :) by 'just a bit' I assume you mean an 8th of a turn or similar. Oh and breathers to atmosphere somewhere you don't have to clean it off/catch tank

yes im only talking about an 8th of a turn.

just some times it doesnt do it. it never used to when had it in the corsa as a standard engine. now it does it. only changed the inlet to carbs.

could it be due to needing to time the dizzy? as not done that

ok time to learn timing lol any tips ha???

theres the big take off and the small take off on the xe rocker cover isnt there. was thinking big one to a catch tank then a breather filter on the catch tank, but what bout the small one?

or will it be ok with a breather filter on the pair of them??

Burton Power give really good advice on stuff like this. I suggest having a look.

Catch tanks have to be same height, or higher than rocker cover.
