Right got hold of a set of 5 sr 14" steels of a member on here! :thumb:

They've got 5 brand new continental 175 65 r14 tyres on

After seeing bretts nova in tv I knew I had to have a set!

What's the widest I could go with those tyres?
They will eventually go on a saloon when I find one...

I'm thinking 8.5" rear 8" front?

Oppinions please

I'm not sure a 65 profile will stretch due to it being so tall iirc Bretts are 50s

Yeah there 175 50 14 iv seen a couple of sets on wheel whore and put up a post but had no reply.

I'd have thought the would have stretched a little further being taller.

I think if I was doing it I'd want 8s on the rear and 7.5s on the front and -100 all round

Bretts are 7' front and 8.25' rear irrc..

Possibly 8's all round that and your probably right about Brett's iirc the second set he had done were wider

mine are 7,5j.

please keep in mind.. nova steelies are smaller than astra steelies.
this will result in a lower offset with the same width.

(mine are astra ones, so oem 5,5J. widening them to 7,5 means adding 2 inch, so mine are now et -1.8.
if you do the same with nova steelies to 7.5, the et will be -14.5

Leave the staggered fitment to the RWD boys. It looks wrong on FWD IMO.

That's what I'm thinking lol I think I have them all the same...

By reducing the et what effect will this have?? If lowering -100mm all the way round?

As in not at all? I'm confused now lol so your saying banded to 8j all round lowering -100mm on a saloon the wheel won't fit?

you dont want a 175 tyre on a 8,5 j.

iirc with small mods 8j with 195-45 will fit on a low saloon.
