Does anyone know anything about chevettes?

Iv just been looking at one on eBay and was wondering if my let would go In there ;) Iv had a browse on chevette owners club but it's not a very active forum!

Atm I'm finding it nearly impossible to find a nova loon project...

I'm not clued up on them at all but a good friend of mine has fitted an s2000 engine into his chevette and he's doing his second one now for a customer. Plus alot of people put xe's into them so can't see why you couldnt get one in :)

Saab 900, 2.0L nasp and Turbo versions IIRC

its all down to how much power u want to run if just std u get away with manta 1800 gearbox. u need big wing sump and pick up pipe of manta 1800. and for rear diff u can use manta b but its a bit to wide. manta a is spot on but very hard to find. iv got a set of engine mounts if needed.

I know Mantas/Asconas running over 250bhp on the 1800 gearbox with no problems. One Ascona in particular has been running it over 10 years, and been taken to drift/track days etc on the same box.

i am using a reliant scimitar rear axle same width as hsr axle, also a jaguar powerlok lsd fits straight in :) running a omega mv6 manual gearbox, and a tuned 300bhp saab 2.0 turbo saab engine.

also if you wanting to build a big block you want to buy a auto shell as the tunnel is nice and big :thumb:

How come your not using an atlas rear axle? If your running 300 plus you'll need strongest axle available.
