I spoke to a guy at the Classic car show who could wire an adapter into the back of an old radio cassette so you can play an i-Pod through the LW or MW channel. Thought about getting the brown one done on the Sport

You can get an cassette tape off ebay for a quid with a wire coming out of it and it has a earphone jack on it so it plugs into where your earphones would go on a ipod or mp3 player.

Nicer to have it wired in directly then you can hide the i-Pod in the glovebox etc with no trailing wires.
Also, the original brown radio for my Sport does not have a tape player lol
Or FM band either for that matter!!!

Just get a small amp and use the iPod as the input source and have it all hidden away, Stuart made a thread about doing this a short time ago for his vx and didn't have a head unit either.

sort of, if you use the big plug at the bottom of the iphone it doesnt allow me to use the ipod functions.

i use this very cable in the link, its a 3.5 jack to rca :) it allows full control from the phone of volume etc too

my daughters ipod runs fine on my 1990's jvc NOS cassette player..even though it does look like its having its period... maybe you need a cassette head cleaning kit

This looks promising.....

Says it does not disable i-Pod function and also supplies power to it!

The only down side is that you can't skip tracks/select albums, if you put the Ipod in the glove box
