Anyone heard of them? Located in Preston area,

was wondering if they would be better than surface processing?

Iirc SPL heat the shell before the acid dip process too but only seem to hear bad stories about there work,

hmmm true if your looking at this why not just get the shell shot blasted?

Shot blasting on really works on the areas you can see, due to the amount of welding my shell will get there will be many areas where the penetration of the welds will be in cavities that can't be reached by blasting. Those areas if left untreated and unprotected will rust quickly and after the sort of cash going into saving the shell i'd be foolish to ignore those areas.

Cool, the usually lines from SPL customers on forums I've read tell of holes drilled in roofs, acid not washed out of cavities properly and in some cases damage to the shell or destroyed panels,

Who did keiths shell?

It's worth doing on a shell like yours, I'd be tempted to dip it first and weld it up before E-coating,

I've Hurd of them befor bazil and I've also Hurd of spl and their rep. Im not sure if you know but no one in the uk is offering a post dip coating service ATM. spl have lost the use of the factory they were using and haven't been able to sort their new coating service out yet ( and it's 3 times as expensive) so once you have had you shell dipped it will be open to the elements again as it's only sprayed with an anti flash rust coating.

Well that's daft, welding after e-coat isn't ideal unless the weld/join is fully accesable.

I had my mk2 escort shell done by these guys, top quality and ready to weld to after in has been coated. Makes life so much easier and also shows up the rust spots that may have been missed before.

It gets literally everything off, seam sealer, underseal etc etc. It well worth the money.

Search for Chris Astley's build thread on here, he had his shell done there. Shows pics of how it comes out. Think they charge around £750 for a Nova sized shell. You still have the problem of painting the cavities as they said they didnt do a post clean dip when i spoke to them.
