I have a Nova (as you call it) my self and it's my second Nova so far... I have a 1993, Novashwarz, Opel Corsa A GSi whit c16se motor...
I'm thinking about showing you both of my cars here and I hope you gonna like it :)
Welcome to PNG.

Thanks for the worm welcome :d
It's not a rare car i Poland, but it's not that well treated as it is in UK... In Poland they are just ordinary car, but me and my friends from corsa-a.pl Team want to change that :) We've got some good projects, I've restored my GSi, earlier I've made a Irmscher Corsa, they are couple 3.0 v6 Corsas... 2.0 8v/16v Are very common ;) There is a problem whit rare, GSi parts... For example, the GSI bumper is impossible to buy... And new one cost a fortune... You also can't buy GSi door and tailgate badge... I've made them myself from the original badges... You will see it all in a little wile... I hope :)
Welcome to png.
Just a reminder that over here the GSI was only on the facelift or mk2 corsa A but in your country the early gsi ( mk1 ) was called the GTE here, I'm sure if you've had a look round this site you'll know what I mean already.

Yeah :d
How do your novas rust over there? Ours seem to self destruct due to our crap weather, is your weather any better ?
STIG_POLAND
03-01-11, 02:25 AM
Most Novas in Poland are in a very bad condition... Rust is a nr.1 problem in here... Last year I've purchased second Nova GSi and it turns out to be a complete wrack... There was nothing to save... Rust vs. Nova 1:0
shed-on-wheels
03-01-11, 02:27 AM
i think its more of the fact of care over here aswell as my nova is near enough mint but needs a plate in the floor and behind the strut thats all that arches front pannel ect are mint
Ah not good, I have a silver GSI I'm going to restore, it has very bad rust but I will save it lol,
At the bottom of my post click the rebuild word and it'll take you to my rebuild thread if you want a quick look.

Great job... Both believe me... If I had all of those parts like new boot floor maybe it wont and like that... Those parts aren't available to buy in Poland... Or if you found something, it would cost more than you can spend... Money is our second and also huge problem ;) Prices in Opel service in Poland are way to high if you compare them to our salary :) Haven't you wonder why are so many Polish people in UK? ;)
Haven't you wonder why are so many Polish people in UK? ;)
i had noticed a few lol they like to raid our scrapyards of anything audi like :(

^^^lol was just about to say about audis
Yes there are many polish in the uk, sadly many uk folk don't like them being here but it's very simple, they come here to earn good money,
if I could go to another country and make double the money I earn here then I'd certainly do it aswell.
The parts I have for putting have cost almost 2000euro and I still need a few more, it's not a fast project due to the cost.
I don't go out and drink all my wages on beer, I gave up smoking and I don't gamble, my nova can have a little extra money for it's rebuild because of this.

well said bazil i gave up smoking and stoped going out to the pub so i can spend a little more on my nova but i think atleast this way you have somthing to show for it
Also something to sell or split for parts to get some of that money back, can't sell used beer lol

03-01-11, 03:05 AM
lol thats very true and smoke dont stay in a jar that long either
STIG_POLAND

I don't smoke, drink, gamble... All my extra money goes in my Nova...
You say, that parts cost over a 2000€... It's my half year salary... And I still have to live, pay off credit, pay bills etc. :) I'm trying to restore my Nova as hard as I can... When I see a part that I need, I'm just buying it... And then wonder, how I'm gonna live till the end of the mouth lol
im like that, get 2 weeks into the month and then think "ah, i seem to be very low on money"
shed-on-wheels
03-01-11, 03:10 AM
wow is that really half of a years salary :( now i see what you meant by its expensive compared to what you earn dude
STIG_POLAND
03-01-11, 03:10 AM
So true...
Some prices are CRAZY! I've seen wings at 190 euro each, rear boot seal at 105 euro and those were shop prices not on eBay!
Also your English is very well written too.

Welcome pan stig.. ive been on corsa-a.pl a few times.
As mentioned its a lot trickier to buy std/modified parts overthere; fewer outlets and so on..
Although when it comes to fabrication i feel its possibly a bit better than here.. Average man is much more 'hands on'.
Also with laws and regulations..? (No real chance of bumping into VOSA and so on , over there..)
Anyway, goodo lets see.
STIG_POLAND
03-01-11, 11:12 AM
If you ask for law and registration it all depends... I don't know how is it in UK, but here, the engine is a spare part... So if fit in the c20ne into a Nova, almost nobody will notice it... Of course there could be some insurance problems, but as long as you don't crash into someone, it's ok :)

I have to say, that I've never see a Corsa/Nova like that...
There was Corsa Caravan from Opel Blitz but it wasn't a stock car... It was a individual conversions

Hehe... Jaca my friend... Good to see you here :)
Jaca is a one hell of a freak when it comes to Corsa/Nova
About my GSi... I wanted to look as standard, as it could be... I have some plans... Headlamp washer jets (looking for a Astra MK4 set, but in Poland it's hard to find) el. mirror (I've both a Nova el. mirror engines already, I only have to install them), I have also found Calibra heated seats (they have the same heating mat as a Recaro heated seats in GSi)... But what would future bring... We will see :)
Very nice GSI
I think it would look better with different wheels and no stickers :thumb:

When I've both her, she didn't have any badges (if that's what you mean be the stickers), and wheels... For me they are awesome... We don't have roads for 16" rims ;)
dzien dobry ;)
i would say more, but the polish guys at work only learn me words like curva, barabara, lodra, valisconja etc lol (dont look at the spelling)
