8v Head on 16v Block?

Will a 1.4 8v head fit on a X14XE bottom end?

Yes it will all bolt up, not sure if you need to do other work to make everything work though as the 1400 16v pistons are different to the 8v ones.

you may get issues with the valve to piston clearance, but it will definitely fit. dummy building one with an old head gasket & no valve springs would be a way of checking how much valve clearance there is.

nah it definately works!! trust me this is the set up i use in stock cars. were limitied to 1600cc so i use a 16se head on a 16xe block and its fine.
