View Full Version : Corsa Xe gear linkage fail!!

Was out last night down lakeside thurrock last night for the first time in the corsa. Had a good Night, car is over fueling like a bitch but its only been in a few weeks so im expecting a few problems but as i left went 3rd to 4th and i was like o dear no gears WTF!! Lucky my mate had a tow bar got home. Got underneath her and found this :cry:

is this fixable or is it new linkage??

probably fixable weld it back in, but new linkage just as easy.

Definatly giving it some then? lol

"had" been giving it some lol I was on the way home at the time, n was taking it easy!!

make a linkage like that using rose joints
not exactly the best one but it worked

i would weld it pal take the white gromet bit out first so it doesnt melt

You also need to put a proper clip on that cv boot lol

Cheers for the help people. A mate has a linkage for me so ill prob just stick that on. Is it worth welding it up before putting it on?? will it make it stronger so it doesnt do it again??

if its welded properly you wont get another problem form that bit again
but like rich said get a clip on the boot it looks like its chucked all the grease on the engine and surrounding parts which will give you yet more problems in the near future

Getting serviced, cambelt, over fuelling and all the other bits that need I.E the cv clip lol(i didnt have a big enough one at the time!!) Cable tie FTW!!

grease was there from when i took the engine out. my old man didnt want me jet washing an engine off on the drive so it stayed there!!:(
