Is there any difference in these on early and late type xe's. I want one for the nova as I hate the look of the powercaps.

Yep the Mk2 astra one is a different shape. tbf i've tried both and neither fit all that well on a nova, a bit of bulkhead bendage is required.

Astra GTE - squared sfi box is the best to use with a nova conversion, it doesn't have as much over hang at the back.

David's right - the early type fitted on my old black GTE, whereas the later type fouled on the bulkhead...

late ones look alot better IMO
Its easy to bend the bulkhead back to miss it.

iirc one gives you slightly more tourque, but less bhp, and the other is opposite..

This is what I heard too . Apparently the powercrap shifts the power higher up the rev range. Cheers everyone . Think I'll just buy whatever comes up really cheap on eBay , don't mind having to bend the bulk head a bit.:thumb:

Strutbrace is the other issue, not many fit over the SFI box (I cut and welded mine so it went in front rather than behind.)

I found the opposite on mine the later SFI box fits better than the early type????

I also have an early type SFI box avaliable if anyone wants to buy it?
