Hey guys.

Not had a nova for quite a while now so been pocketing some money and i'm thinking that when i'm 21 in april to get temp car cover on a decent size engined nova and take it to shows. (i'm hoping)

Now i know there is VERY FEW insurers that will do temp cover for 21 years olds but can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

You'll struggle if by "decent" you mean "converted", very few temp cover companies will touch a modified car.

I'm sure I remember reading Sky were able to offer temp cover, but I might have imagined that - but then they don't like your postcode do they?

Since you're insuring it for what, 3 months over the show season, why not just pay for it monthly and cancel, or swap your main insurance to it?

i think i used direct line for mine for the chevette.

that was for a week though.

and also search pay as you go insurance. im pretty sure you have to be over a certain age.

^ Tut!

there sky and dont cover mods
Also says in their FAQ they don't cover mods other than for disabilities or optional extras fitted by the manufacturer at time of construction

Aviva will do temp cover for 21 year olds, but again standard cars only.

The age thing is a bit weird. When I bought my Vectra GSi at 24 a lot of companies said I'd need to be 28 to insure it. Thought that was funny until I had the VXR, I got told by one company that I'd need to be 30! lol Still I'm 33 next so no bother any more.

My thoughts exactly, never work insurance companies out.

Thats what they seem to do for young kids these days

When I was 17, anything more than a 1.5 was pretty much no chance sunshine. Then they threw a few stupid quotes out there, realised some eejits will pay it, and the floodgates were open for rates to go up.

Well the main difference is nowadays anything that falls under category B on a license is pretty much no chance sunshine lol

And of course people will pay it, whats your other choice, wait 5 years until it's gone down by £200 to only 2 grand because you have no experience whatsoever?
