First thing, am I right in thinking an f13 cluster will fit straight into f10 box? Is it the same with diffs?

Also what is the difference between f10 casing and f13?

the f13 bellhousing is larger to accomodate the later, larger flywheel & moved out starter position of the 1400 & 1600 mpi engines, but it will still fit onto a 1300 type block.

apart from really early f10 boxes that had different bearings, the f10/f13 innards are interchangeable

Cheers again mowgli. I have a dilema at the moment. I have 2 boxes and want to make best possible box out of the 2.

One I'm currently using is a standard f10 with 4.53cwp and zf45% LSD.

Box I've just got is f13 with straight cut gears hockly 90% LSD. I haven't checked what cwp

Zf diff is spot on for what I use the car for, although harry said he could bring the 90% diff down to 45 for me but obviously will cost money. But the zf could do with a plate kit.

Using iPhone at the moment so sorry it's hard to understand :)

The box will be going on a 1300 engine with a bit of poke :)

Mike - you don't by any chance know if there's a weight difference between the F10 and F13 casings do you?

sorry, i've never weighed one, but as the bellhousing is only slightly larger on the f13, i'd have to guess it is a couple of hundred grams heavier at most.

Thanks, I've got a bare F13 casing here, so I must strip down one of my F10's and do a proper comparison.

I've got an F13 Quaife SCCR ready to go in my car, but if there's a weight saving to be had I must get it built into an F10 casing.

I will have a completely stripped f10 casing in week or 2. Il weigh it if you like and let you?

Thanks, that would be most useful, let me know when you're ready.

Easy, put your f10 45% diff into you f13 casing. 25 minute job.

Yeah that's what I'm planning on doing :)
