c20ne oil presure !:(

oil pesure light came on my nova when i was driving along started feeling slower so i turned it off ,had alook to check for leaks oil was pouring out the sump gasket for some reason! filled it up with oil and started it it started making a funny noise so just turned it back off,when i got it home looked at it looks like the oil is not going back up in to the top of the engine !!? anyone know what could cause this ?:(

I would say the funny noise is the bottom end is fubar'd the oil pump can only do so much, the main bearings help maintain the oil pressure and if they are scored and damaged they wont do this.

so you think its time for an engine change ?:L just got this 1 runing start of the week aswell after a slow process!

could also be rubbish stuck up the lift pipe could take it of and make sure its clean but id say when its making funny noises she probly turned the shells on the crank

sounds like the oil pump has give up but also sounds like the bottom end has had enough

My moneys on the bottom end bearings gone. If they have gone the pump will loose pressure filling the gaps (as such) and won't be able to pump oil to the top of the engine.

My money is on a clown with some bathroom sealant putting the sump back on.

Local lad did it, by mistake, and filled the pickup gauze with silicone.
