Well im a little bit stuck on what to do really iv had my corsa c let for a couple of months now and im getting pretty bored with it! its been a long story tbf the engine was in 2 nova's before going in the C and i just want another nova.

its going to noble motorsport on the 4th of jan for a full setup then im thinking of selling it.

i just dont know wether to sell the car complete to buy a well spec'd nova saloon of just keep the corsa buy a saloon then have it as a project..

im also unsure on what engine route to go down if i buy a saloon iv been looking into a 2.0 8v but would it just be as good as getting a 1.6 and tuning it?

opinions please

Dan

2ltr 8v is as quick as a xe just xe has better top end, and 2ltr 8v's are strong engine iirc to :)

thats what im thinking for reliability and ease of working on.

im wanting to build somthing uber clean iv had 2 1.6 nova's 2 1.4s and a c20let.
just never had the 2.0 8v.

Youve got the right engine but in the wrong car.

Corsa C's are to heavy, combined sloppy steering & soft brakes this makes for one rather dire car.

I prefere the c20xe to the 8v tbh just feels better!
As for the c20let corsa c........not a fan of the way corsa c's drive.
Id set it up and sell it, get a nova with a Well specked xe or let, Im sure you will get bored of a 1.6 if you have had let power!

Too much drink and drugs abuse over Xmas?

Next you'll be telling me the 8v has more torque than the 16v.

i wouldnt bother with an 8v personaly still need the same fitting kit as an c20xe so cost bar cost of engine is the same, also a 1.6 16v with power box and a few slight mods will give more power than the 8v (most 2.0 8v are only around 118bhp unless you find an seh and there rare now) adam pulled 130bhp with his old 1.6 16v with only mild mods and unless you get a 1.0 saloon the standard nova mounts and shafts will fit

I was unfortunate enough to own a 2.0 8v Nova for 2 weeks

then an xe went in lol

How did you guess? lol

The 8v had pikey welded shafts that were working fine but first run up the road in the 16v and snapped one immediately.

I know you meant Cle. :thumb:

Was just stating facts so I wasn't seen to be criticising 8v's with no justification.

Truth be told the corsa is pretty alright but it's nothing on any nova iv had!

I think I'm going to get the corsa sorted sell it or brake it then buy a decent daily and a nova saloon wip.

I'd like to go down the xe route but it's been covered so many times and I don't think it would suit the euro look.

brake the C but keep the engine and put that in a nova?

That's another option I was thinking well the main option but I need to fund the loon so getting rid of the let males more sense.

surely you could make enough by stripping/swapping the shell, then sell off the mounts to some tw@t on corsa-c.co.uk lol

Its the same block so the 8v carnt be any stronger than a 16v.

There just simpler to work on than the 16vs but there just like mechano too!

Cant resist putting these up. The 8v was fun and slightly lighter than the 16v, but the power of the 16v is worth the trade off all day long. Even though the 8v was less common than the 16v conversions at shows and stuff, I never got much extra interest in it.

As Mr.Peg said, fitting a 2.0 8v or 16v is exactly the same cost, bar the engine so imo thats a no brainer really.
Although an 1700 TD would kill them both..
