yes it will fit, but you have to box it up. which isnt such a bad thing as you can just incorparate it in with the spreader plates. i put a nova cage in my mates corsa sport rally car. obviously had to cut some of the trim to fit afterwards but it doesnt matter on a rally car.

Sounds like all he had to do was box the sills to get the correct height?

But whats to stop those boxes crushing on impact? Or am i being too fussy lol

If he's good then they won't lol. I have never really understood the boxing business tbh. To the point that we sold on the Safety Devices 6 point bolt in from my mates mk1 xr2 as we thought it wasn't the correct one! lol

I fitted an bolt in 6pt OMP with a mate to his 205 and we had to box the sills on that for it to fit and it was bought brnad new for that car. I don't know why it couldn't be a bit taller. lol

Surely it would be easier to just sell the nova one and buy a corsa one? Then no mods have to be done....

Kind of my thinking really, just buy the correct one!

I am 50/50 on it. If just height is the issue then I would box it in. Depends on the car/availabilty though. I assume you could sell the Corsa cage on and get a Nova one no trouble at all, or even swap.

It also comes down to patience. lol

Boxes should be made out of 3mm plate, instead of 0.9mm floorpan, and weld into the sills, rather than just being 3mm plate surrounded by cheese-metal.

a friend of mines rally car has a nova cage in it. its just as safe as fitting a corsa cage aslong as the box's are done correctly.

3mm Boxes should be used as minimum as an accordance with the blue book.

This is an OMP cage in a fiesta with 3mm Boxes welded to the floors sills and then end plates made and welded on

And this is why you want it done proper. I was marshaling on the northwest stages in 2006 and it wasn't pleasant waiting for the fire service to come and remove this chap out his car.

One seriously battered Sapphire by the looks of it.

No exactly but it could have been fitted better. It was just bolted to the floors with some spreader plates welded to the floor pan and the bolts fastened from under the car. Not done proper in my opinion. The bottom of the cage leg was poking through the floor plan and the front part of the cage had bent slightly could have been worse driver was taken away with a broken leg and ankle.

nova ones will fit and i always find that boxing them in, makes them alot stronger as i have fitted alot of cages to nova's and corsa's

no i didnt bodge the cage in at all. :tard: as it is sed above, the boxes were made of 3mm steel, with large spreeder mats, all fully seem welded round each joint. Welded nuts on the inside of the boxes, using m10 nuts and bolts to fasten it in place. the msa scutineers dnt complain put it that way lol.

i paid alot to have my cage made as it was by someone who really knew what he's doing. my cage is boxed on both the A and B pillars and looking at it now i can only see how it an add to the strength
