im trying out a few ideas on aerials and would like to hide 1 completly the best one i have found so far is an internal one you fit onto your window but i have no idea how good the signal is going to be with that.

anyone had any suggestions on what aerial i could use or where it could be re-located or hidden and how good the signals will be?

Have a search and see if it's possible to use the heated rear screen elements as an aerial. I'm sure I've heard of some cars doing it.

I have used one of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Internal-Glass-Windscreen-Mount-Amplified-Car-Aerial-/160515878861?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item255f7defcd) with good results, they are better in open areas but tbh I never really listened to that much radio lol

I used one of those as well and it was fine, mounted at the top of the screen.

i used a glass mount one and it was rubbish in my area! And to be honest wasnt much better anywhere! It was an amplified one too! Lol!

the problem you have is that the car acts as a farraday cage

DAB. Hide the aerial in the crossmember.

Car's that run aerials embedded in the screen don't exacty give a clean look.

This is what i have, hidden in the tinted strip. Works perfectly. Never lose sig or quality even in a tunnel..

I used one of them as well, it wasn't great. You don't have a top tint windscreen either Si, so you wont be able to hide the aerial there.

IIRC my aerial was connected to my rear screen.

I also ran and normal style aerial under the dash. That worked fine too.

lol i did say IIRC... my car has been stripped since 2001!! I ran a CD headunit, sub/amp combo anyway...no need for radio!

TBH, you could get creative and use a normal aerial and hide it in a pillar??

Iirc Ford Sierras use the rear heated screen elements, there is an interface around the rear shelf, to stop you back feeding a voltage to your headunit when you turn your heated screen on, if I was you I'd got to the scrappy, strip one down to find out how it works and see it there is anything you can utilies on your saloon rear screen
