Some bad bale damage ended the day for the best sounding nova of the day! (With metal wide arches!)

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo255/boffer8/IMG00325-20101228-1433.jpg

By mid afternoon, nearly every car had damge on it somewhere due to the very unpredictable conditions in a lot of the corners.

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo255/boffer8/IMG00334-20101228-1522.jpg

A few too many hits for this one lead to very excessive arch rub under breaking! lol

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo255/boffer8/IMG00335-20101228-1524.jpg

Even the novas were keeping up with the newest of technology as after the exit of this corner the nova went flying past! Thats what you get for the correct tyre choice!

Sorry for some crap pics but thats what you get with some very fast moving cars and a blackberry when you cant feel your fingers! lol

The track conditions made for a very interesting day. Highlights of the day for me:

High spec XE Mk3 Astra which unfortunately crashed out on the last stage...was on the ball all day long

BMW driver who was having a good old giggle getting seriously sideways

The blue wide-arch 16XE Nova which was very quick and also crashed out :(

A battle between the top two cars (both Subarus)

Lots of sideways Mk1 + 2 Escorts and a Sunbeam too :d

A 106 who had a very good run (red with yellow arches and bumpers...one for you Mike possibly?)

All in all a brilliant day of motorsport, and anyone who could have gone and didn't missed out big time!!

Hey guys,

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo255/boffer8/IMG00319-20101228-1429.jpg

Christ it looks like all my wheels were bent and wobbly.

We had a bad first three stages, slipping all over the place and having no confidence in the tyres (or my driving). We climbed from 9th in class and 48th OA after stage 1 to 3rd in class and 23rd OA at the end. Its a shame I didn't get my finger out earlier. We would have got second if we'd had another stage. Its always nice when you catch Evos and Subarus and push your way past, I even had to give an Evo a little touch to persuade him to move after following hims for 2 miles. Not the done thing really but its frustrating when I'm loosing bags of time.

Anyway only very minor damage to the car, it'll soom be ready for the North West Stages, where we're on a hatrick of class wins. Roll on Feb!

Well done to all who finished especially the Novas.

Well done Steg, I thought it was you after I noticed the PNG sticker in the rear window. I was going to come over to you in the service area during the break, but we had to rush back to our marshalling post :(

Graeme - the NW Stages are along Blackpool Prom (well thats the main place for spectators anyway)

Thanks man, you should have come over and helped us eat all the cake, soup and butties, we always take enough to feed an army.

Thanks for marshalling by the way, it must have been grim stood out in the cold all day, it was bad enough stood around between stages.

NSW 4th and 5th feb.

Cheers for the invite, I will have to keep an eye out for you on future events :thumb: It was cold and I got wet feet as my rigger boots are no longer waterproof lol the non-stop action makes it worthwhile but towards the end it can start to get a bit grim when the dark and cold closes in and the competitors start to thin out.

I didn't manage to get to this was going to enter but had other things on!! It always goes to show big power isn't necessary to get a decent result at croft at christmas the weathers always awful! It was the same when they used to run park hall at the end of December.

Ill be over at the North West Stages. We normaly have a passage control at the end of clifton sewage works or stage start of the same stage.

Does anyone know where they will Be running this year as pontins is now closed and not sure if they are running Weeton?

Cant find the pic of the damage or the Puddle its about somewhere. I know it claimed alot of cars and was 70 foot long! and about 2 and half foot deep.

This was the car it was a jinx to be honest, Its still going though but back as a 1600cc.

We rolled the car on the bulldog in October 2007 then totaled the engine in the December!
