Ive got plenty of mates, the last thing I do is cart people around.

Firstly it costs me money and performance

and second you look like a collossal retard cruising round with some muppets sat in the back going "oi race past that copper itll be funny"

Unless its a general transport thing i refuse more than a front seat passenger

i only take front seat too (usually the missus) big fat cunts in the back isn't what you need when an xr2 pulls up next to u at the lights.

plus the rear tyres scrape on the arch. which happened today when carrying all my stuff back from uni (in all i had 3 t.v's, wtf?!?) i had to change to standard wheels on the back cos they're skinnier than me alloys an they could tuck up right in the arches. looked like a muppet an the exhaust was about two cm's from the road lol. still manage 105mph on the m53 though lol  :o

Or if you take your gran everywhere then dont do it.

Burgo90...me and a couple of mates did a interior swap within a couple of hours. It's not as difficult as you think. The only time consuming bit is getting it all neat.

CoolMarty...to be honest the Nova isn't the biggest car in the world, so who looks more like an idiot? The guy with his girlfriend/mate in a nice set of buckets, or the guy with 4 big burly mates crammed into his Nova?

I'd say do it, even if it's just for a short period of time. I'ts not difficult to do and you can always swap it all back :)

Jim.

P.S. CoolMarty...if theres you and 4 fit women crammed into your car, then thats a different situation ;)

Yep. It's true.

I have a cage in the rear, false floor, buckets/harnesses in the front, so only take one person in the front.

The reasons were:

- i am not a taxi, so no need for the seats in back. AND it saves me from haviong to explain why i can't (don't want to) take passengers.
- less chance of my 17's catching.
- less weight=more speed.
- looks A LOT better with cage etc than with some seats i.m.o.
- nova rear seats are too small to fuck in anyway, so best to do it on the bonnet etc. Though i prefer a king size 4 poster in a hotel.

strip it out, slap a roll cage an buckets in it, do a false floor with (if you can afford it) a spare alloy in the centre an build your ice around that would look mint
seen it done in a 306

pull off the plastic covers on your rear bench bit (should be on the face of seat as you look at it) undo the 4 phillips head screws holding the clips in, then pull the bench out.
for the rear of the seats fold them down an you should see some more phillips heads holding the rear clips on to the car undo these an lift the clips off an your rear seats should lift out this will have the boot carpet attached

Go on strip is bare - turn it into a van!

All you really need is some instruments, a wheel, a nob, 2/3 pedals and a lever. Somethin to strap yourself in and some way to open the door.

Everything else is optional.

can you get a roll cage already made that you just hav to bolt in a put together or do u have to go get one made n welded up, etc?

any pictures of sum1 who has had a strip out but not put a ice install in the back?

?Marty?

Yes, most cages are ready made.

Then they are either bolted in, or welded in. To bolt one in you'll need to drill some holes, so watch out for fuel lines/tyres and etc, and underseal afterwards.

do a false floor with (if you can afford it) a spare alloy in the centre

Don't bother. Just use a can of tyre-weld. Although, if you can afford it, a proper bare metal (with old seat hinge/back mounts ground off and smoothed) rear, that's been re-sprayed looks even better. And if you get i.c.e., get a fiberglass install to match the rest.

ChrisLR - are you trying to put people off with that pic? It's the biggest pile of crap i've ever seen. And that's not even an opinion. It's a fact.

LMFAO....Nice one Marty.

Novaboy1.2...heres a picture of Chris Tunnicliffes false floor. He's got the arches carpeted (to go with the floor) The floor itself can be removed within a couple of mins for when he wants to get maximum weight loss.

http://www.novaload.net/forums/album_see.php?id=1102

IMO it looks neater than no false floor at all (but I would say that, as I built the fllor ;))

If you are going to PV03, check out some of the other Novas on the NL Stand and see what you think.

So does putting a roll cage in increase insurance?

IM off away next week so will be keppin my seats in till i get back but then its all coming out.
Can any1 tell me about that foam stuff you spray in your tyre when its flat coz a spare wheel weighs a lot.
how do you get the foam out when you get a new tyre?

Lookin mint mate.
what have you put on the sides? (rear quaters?)

ollster
12-06-03, 10:14 AM
full length carbon fibre panels on the sides held on with original vauxhall push clips (took some fitting/trimming to get perfect)
