pretty much had a massive fail of a night. all started when i went over my mates house for a little bit, his plans were to go see his mrs's christmas eve and spend the night there untill afternoon christmas day.
so we got to his car and saw the tyre was completely smashed and the wire was sticking out everywhere. so i had to change his tyre as knowhere was open, with a flat head screw driver and hacksaw.
that took about an hour then followed him to the petrol station because he was very low on fuel. we got there fine so i went home and then about 2 miles from my house the novas clutch broke the pedal went straight to the floor, so had to nurse it home, looked under the bonnet hoping it would just be the cable. but the lever is completely loose so i dont know if its the clutch or the lever or the bearing.
not a happy Christmas this year.

I'd have left the car and gone to the pub
Sounds to me like its your mates own stupid fault for not bothering to change his tyre way before it got to be dangerous, tis a shame he hadnt been stopped whilst driving it!
Oh and please press 'enter' onece every few hundred words, as it makes it easier to read, my christmas eve was a quiet but enjoyable one, its only ever going to be as good as you make it :p

Mine was nice, spent with the family as per.....Wouldnt have it any other way. Cant be botherd to party on christmas eve, thats what new years is all about!
The lever tends to be really loose before it hits the clutch release point, which you're never gonna shift by hand, probably just needs a new lever, 5 minute job, perfectly possibly while queueing for a track run lol
i just went to a carol service & then chilled out till santa came

lol, yeh i think it is the lever because the bar the clutch cable goes to is fine but really loose to wiggle. it needs a new clutch anyway because this one has been ruined for a while. anyone know where i can get hold of a lever for it?

it wasnt obvious the tyre was crap tho, i looked at it when it was flat and it was only about 1/5th of the tyre that was fooked.

A good driver looks after his car and knows exactly what state it is in, particularly the wheels/brakes,tyres and such so he shouldve known his tyre was heading towards the end of its life, so excuses like that imo do not wash:wtf:
i had a puncture and it was only flat on the bottom, the rest of the tyre was fine..........

Oh the old ones are the best ones lol
i was comparing it to the 'only 1/5 of the tyre was worn all the way thru to the wire' excuse.........
tracking & camber out, bottom bushes most likely shot.....
Aye this is true, and also goes hand in hand with what i was saying about a good driver keeping an eye on his car and knowing what state of repair it is in:d
I am a good driver.
Celica: Service Overdue
Nova: Shagged.
