View Full Version : c20XE idleing problem revving to high
On my dizzy cap c20xe it is revving too high on idle. You start the car up and its fine, drive it for a few mins and the it idles high (dont no how high as i have no rev counter atm)
Do the have a idle control screw or valve? if so where abouts is it?
or could it be something else??
Rep for good advise

CTS?
Is it idling like its on tickover?
cts????
when i first start it up, it idles nice like its on tickover but when u put the clutch in after driving, during driving etc it revs up to between 1200-1700 est.
i have wd-40 all the throttle cable throttle springs etc and it helped a little bit. There is abit of movement in one of the main springs could it be that?

my mate had this problem on his astra gsi, his was the throttle position switch on the throttle body, its worth changing the coolent temp sensor aswell, the the sensor with a plug just under the hose that goes from the head to the top of the rad. think its a blue plug, disconect that and see if makes a differance, if not try the throttle switch on the side of throttle body.
Sounds like a knackered throttle position switch to me
