Anyone recognise these brakes? Removed from my gte nova ( xe'd ). I originally thought they were 2.0 16v astra / cav / calibra calipers, but they are different to my 92 Gsi astra ones. Was there a few different types?

Nova GTE 236 mm I think or there abouts, also fitted to mk2 GSIs until about 1991 when the ATE caliper came out. Wouldn't put them on my car as they are prone to seize and are no real differnce to a standard 1.2 disc I dont think other than being vented.

Awful Delco calipers (not ATE) - infamous for 'sticky' caliper syndrome, where the pad sticks to the pins that hold them in.

the delco calipers are terrible things & should be thrown away as soon as humanly possible.. there is the 236 astra diesel mk3 vented ate caliper that fits straight on with the old disc. it is way better.

Same as corsa Sport... Not much of an improvement tbh.

but dr, they are better than a delco, especially when a slider seizes & you get no brakes when you really need some..

ahh now i know what brakes are on my nova. they will be getting chucked for some 256mm ates
