View Full Version : Who made the original headlights on mk1 novas?

I have umpteen lights but want the right ones in my GTE, on the car ATM is a pair of Hella ones with the H4 on the glass, I also have Lucas ones with no H4 and some randoms aswell

( Iain I'm sorry but I don't have any chrome ones lol )

My C reg 1.0l had Hella ones

But my SR on a F reg had Lucas ones

Never seen any chrome back ones tho lol

I'm not sure what Iain is looking for, what I'll do then is use the backing of the new Lucas lamps on the hella lens then as they may still be the ones from new.

the ones that have gm sticker on them have kinby and H4 written on the lens

I believe no Nova left the factory with Lucas headlights and they are oem replacements

I don't think kinby is a make, i googled them and nothing came up

maybe they worked for gm at that time?

iam not sure, but have seen some original novas, ie snow white( virginal)
at shows and a lot of them have this daft sticker on them.

Just to add, few weeks ago pair of mint headlights came up on ebay and I bought them.

Ad said "Taken from my 38K mk1 Nova Saloon project car (have upgraded to a mk2 front end)"

When I got them 1 was kinby and 1 was hella

also when I bought my loon I noticed both sides are kinby

Correct i have also got a bnib headlight that is chrome at the back, with a valeo sticker on it, but kinby on the glass .

Kinby/valeo is what I understand were fitted, Iain if that is a drivers side light withthe GM sticker on then sell me it!!

lol, i would like to mark, but sadly iam trying to find one for the drivers side to match the chrome one, if i dont find one to mach then i will give you first refusal mate, and will get a pair of black backed lights :thumb:
