Astra GTE brakes/hubs

A guy I know found out I've got a Nova the other day and told me he's got some Astra GTE hubs/single pot calipers/256mm vented discs sat in his garage from a project a few years ago that I can have for £40 if I want them.

My only problem is that I know nothing about Astra parts, I've got a standard Nova and just want to know firstly whether I can use the standard shafts in the astra hubs, secondly whether i'll get much of an improvement braking wise and thirdly whether they're worth it for £40?

The astra 256mm calipers and reatiners will bolt straight onto your nova hubs. So no need for the astra ones (they're different anayway) yes you'll see an improvement in the brakes.

Good news, I've just emailed him to ask what state the discs/pads are in and whether or not he'll sell me the brakes seperatly, thanks for the advice!
