and putting the 1.3 head on a 1.4 block maybe work depending on the locating dowels and gallery positions but if they match then it will alter your compression ratios and maybe give a bit more power output wont be much but as tesco always say every little helps

Its to do with the 14NV port shapes being crap, so using a 1300 head instead but maintaining a similar compression ratio...whereas if you used a C14SE head the CR would be well out. Changing the cam for a 1300 item will make bugger all difference

sorry

right i had a 1300 sr witch sadly got wrote off :( . i have just got 1400 sr. I was talking to my friend and he was telling me to put the 1300 head on the 1400 bottom end. would this be better i dont no :S he said that the exhaust ports were different, the 1300 being a diamond shape an the 1400 being square :s

would this be better i dont no

read my above post

The exhaust ports are similar if not identical, its the inlet ports where the main difference is. The 1300 head has "cathedral" shaped ports which are miles better flowing than the square ports of the 1400 head

although i havn't done it, i have been told by a few people its a good mod. boy i bought my nova from used to do this on his autotest cars i think. i'm sure he said it raises compression a little bit aswell.
