basically i got a 1.2 and i wana make it quicker. i dont wana bother doing engine transplants as i c it as more of a challenge to get power out of the engine i got.
i know by getting manifold, downpipes and fullsystem off a gte/gsi and getting its cam as well as a manifold and carb off a 1.3 SR i can get her up to around 70 ish bhp what wud i need 2 do 2 get it up to around 80bhp
for instance how much bhp would i get out of getting a fast road cam. i got around ?200 to spend

any advice and suggestions will b most apprieciated

hrm

assuming its a 1.2 carb

and your serious about tuning it

keep yer eyes out for a set of Weber Twin 40's with 1300 manifold

if ur lucky u'll be able to pick them up for about 100-200 depending on condition

add the 40's plus a cam from an SR or GTE and also the full exhuast system off a GTE, get it all tuned up

the 40's alone should get it to about 70bhp i recon, the other mods will help it along to 80 maybe a tad more

i thought T40's don't have a manifold as such? Especially a 1.3sr manifold. They just connect straight to the head don't they and they sit horizontaly level with it so the air is drawn horizontally near bulkhead.

Rather than a twin choke 2e3 that draws air from above.

0-60 ive no idea on

u'd be looking at slightly faster than an SR if u managed to get 80bhp outta it

as for the insurance - it totally depends - Liverpool Victoria simply note down "engine mods" and add a stupidly small fee to the policy - other companies may want engineers reports and stuff

Standard SR is around 13.4 so i'd guess at 13.0???

Is the gearing the same on a 1.2 as 1.4 that has a big influence too....

remove the interior as well, just leave 2 seats, if you go for the 40mm webers then you WILL need it rolling roaded to set them up perfectly, and the set up of them can make the difference between a quick engine and a fast engine

how much wud putting her on a rolling road cost me. iv seen sum negative posts about stripping the interior sum people said it made the rear of the car very light and a bit unpredictable in wet conditions wat do u wrekon
