2.0 16v Engines

Whats this about pourous and non purous heads on c20xe engines? did they change at a certain date or somthing? Is there any thing to look out for when buying this engine? i.e any common faults?

it's not such a big problem now... most of the heads are either good or fixed

on the c20xe engine some of the heads or vauxhall made and some r cosworth made the cossy ones the one you want you can tell by looking at the bottom of the head by the manifold and if its acosworth head itll have cosscast stamped on it but as the guy above said dont worry to much

the head to have is the coscast. this head doesnt go porous. it was made from '88-'92.
