I like wheels... I like nice wheels.... I've got 3 sets up for sale on a VW forum. (I'm cleaning out the ones I don't use)

Total if they sell £1350

Kinnda freaked me out a bit... All that money sat in my spare bedroom....

So I thought ok.

I fancy a R32 so I'll sell off all my corrado, mk2 and mk3 parts.

Drew up the list...

Total if they all sell £1935

Over all,
The unused car parts in my spare bedroom, Living room, Dining room and shed is worth...

£3285

Then i thought ok what if I sell the Corrado G60 (finished), The VR6 (finished) and the Mk4 Diesel.... (all parts are there, Just have to build)

After selling them too i'd have

£11,285!!

That's an R32 with a nice holiday and no credit cards or loans!!

Got me thinking....

What's your car hoarding obsession worth and if you were to sell today at a price to SELL TODAY (not pre recession market price)

How much is your unused car shizzle worth?? or Just your collection of cars...

Or in my case BOTH!

Quick rattle through i'm coming to around £12,500 in nova stuff as both cars are in bits ATM

if I sold the audi and all spares around £7000 so in total it's near £20k lol

I'm of to eBay now lol

It's worse when I add up what I've spent on my cars,
The GSI has over £18k worth of receipts going back to when I bought it ( the cost of the car is included in that figure ) but that does not include petrol, tax, mot or insurance,
the Audi's total finance cost was £20,500 ( total repayment figure )

It's best not to think about it this way though lol

probably guessing I've spent close to £60k on cars and parts since I started driving in 1995, but I wouldn't change anything tbh.

I'm pretty sure there are members on here that have spent much much more :)

I spent over £30K on my sport between 1989 and the end of 1991.
I stopped counting when I started my GTE project at the end of '91 which became the GSi in 95.

Then again, that's motor racing!

How to have a small fortune through motorsport - start with a large one!

I dread to think. Last time I counted up I reckon I was somewhere like £25k on the Celica over almost 5 years (at the time), but thats totalling fuel, insurance, tax, mods, maintenance, depreciation.... and didn't cover the £1400-odd SSS overhaul lol

The Nova actually only stands me about £1k over its lifetime in terms of parts; obviously counting fuel, tax, insurance that would be a bit more! If I was to sell that as a whole I'd probably only be a few quid down though; but in parts (inc all the junk in my shed) I could probably stick a small profit.

Anyone wanna buy an ST205 or a V6 saloon? LOL

Probably talking the best part of £20k's worth of Novas sitting in the shed if I was to sell them as they sit. Wouldn't want to count up what I've spent on them though, that would just be too scary!!

I've probably spent about 4-5000, and if I sold everything would be worth something similar ..... But at least i haven't wasted it

This is exactly what i have been doing. In summer i had a look at the stuff i had and was a fair chunk of cash. So i have sold the things that i dont want (2 cars and car parts) and am saving up aswell, i need around £13k-£14k and am half way there now. Quite sickening i still have the nova still in the garage doing fcuk all but im not prepared to let that go and same with my main car.

If only.

I have a £1950 retrim to sell. £850 set of head lights, £900 of coilovers all unused and loads and loads of other stuff. Threee sets of rims etc.

That's what they stand me. What I get back is nothing like that. Although it's still a good few quid. I plan to shift them on in the new year.

If I sold everything I have atm, less than a grand I think. Most stuff of any value got sold when I broke it up as I was in the ****e money wise.

Argh! I know, I know!

Idiocy of the highest order! Funny thing is they are (not overnight) from Japan. Wish I had put them on my tab at Harrys. I got them about 4.5 years ago and now they're much easier to find. Albeit not brand new - who would be daft enough?!

Then I retrofitted 4000K HID's to dipped and main beam. They may owe me more tbh. :(

Jack

See what happens when you don't use Harry's. Next thing you'll be using those Gallo 24's :(

If I was to sell everything I've got I'd be lucky to see £4000 that's including my project a lot of brand new bits on it, both engines/box's/looms etc, high comp pistons, rods, wheels, brakes, suspension and a **** load of spares I've got lay about like full glass set standard pistons and rods and plastic bits.

My latest nova cost me 300euro(couple of month test and two small patched needed:thumb: ) and the bit in the shed about 1500ish

16-12-10, 09:00 PM
Oooh, have you seen my loft? Loft full, lock up garage full, large shed full & remainder of the garage space not taken up with the Sport full!
I had a very small clearout of a few bits I did not need which netted me £2000. Not even touched the surface of what I have.
Plus the value of a mint Sport and a 6500 mile 888 coupe.

Nova_Tek
16-12-10, 09:12 PM
If i sell the spare Nova parts I have in the garage or house most I'd get realistically would be £500 or there abouts.

loggyboy
16-12-10, 10:24 PM
Take a third off all your sums as some bits wont sell and others will go for less than you thought.
I calculated 3.5k when I stripped my nova, got just over 2k in the end, with only about 2-300 in unsold parts that some eventually sold after quite a while for less than I hoped.
