Can anyone point me in the direction of any company that will do classic or future classic insurance for a 1990 GTE Nova

Lancaster, always been helpful and used for cars including SR

Any particular reason why you want a classic policy?

Sky cover me limited mileage on the Nova and it suits my needs without being as restrictive as a "traditional" classic policy

Just to try and keep the cost down a bit. I will only be doing low miles and using it for shows etc., as it will be a second car and not in every day use.

I've my Novas insured with Campbells in Coleraine, £170 for 6 cars, can't beat it!
Number is 028 7034 4321

EA Davies in Glengormley are supposed to be good too.

I thought classic insurance had no restrictions as such?? I thought it was just for old cars...

Thats cheap! I was with Campbells autoline with the casanova, do you know if they accept modified cars that are pre 95?

Classic policies are all about recognising the fact that the insured car is unusually valued by its owner and isn't used in the normal manner. In other words it's a low risk. In fact you could call it 'cherished' - which is a word the industry doesn't seem to bother with any longer.

Insurance is just about risk (plus repair value) - so as long as they understand that you don't pose a significant risk then you're in a good position for a low premium. That's why they often want to know which owner's clubs you belong to, although that's a bit of an old fashioned principle as forums such as this one have taken over from clubs.

You absolutely must speak to the insurer when asking for a quote - don't do it on line as there are lots of 'automatic risk calculation' mechanisms used which will generally result in your situation being dealt with unfairly. Just make sure they understand that you really do cherish your car and will make sure it's not exposed to risk.

I've got the following on a Peter Best classic policy:
Porsche 944
Peugeot 205 Roland Garros (uber-rare top of the range jobbie)
Vanden Plas 1300

That policy cost me £205, with unlimited milage, for me & the missus. I'm 38 though, which will help.

I've got a Nove GTE road rally car too - through Competition Car Insurance that only cost about £140 (limited to 1000 miles).

Do you have the 6 novas on the 1 policy? Didnt think you could have more than 1 car on a policy.
