There is a video some where of a Nova with a similar enine in built by Martin Bowyer I think, I'm also sure the owner is on here, will see what I can find

the 1600 redtop has been around for a few years, mostly in small capacity class motorsport.

i think the baby xe would give it a good run for its money

People that rally them with 220+ bhp.

I dont see the attraction to the 1600xe, seems alot of money for not much gain over a propper 1600:wtf:

Most of that torque will have been thrown out of the window when the shorter rods were put in.

It will rev well but I also fail to see the advantages of this over a proper small block XE :roll: its heavier and the power figure of 190bhp is hardly astronomical, the only interesting figure to see would be the torque compared to a similar spec baby 1600

cos it weighs bugger all thats why and once its going its in the powerband all the time. Would love to see the full spec of that engine - all I know is its a "money no object" build around 175bhp

Wouldn't be much good for rallying though

Wouldn't be much good for rallying thoughno prob not mate seems not bad for the hillclimb but must need rebuilt or freshend up alot screaming like that lmao sounds ace

There was a thread on here not so long ago with a bit of info about it. IIRC he is going 16v with it to make the most of the rev-ability of the bottom end

My bruv and I were working on taking an old 1.2 engine and building a near on 1600 screamer out of it for racing.

I gave up and went big V8!!

I still have my 1763cc smallblock in the shed!!
