awryt people i am stuck and cant get my nova started back up ha well what happend was the waterpump pully sheerd off but the belt didnt cum off soo i wacked a new water pump in adn timed it back up but now it just turns over i get poping and blow back through the inlet is this ignition timeing cheers :thumb:

what engine is it, does sound like its bent valves/timing is out

1.2 mate ehy wen the pump broke it just cut out it didnt stop or no bang or enything mate if that helps :thumb:

Id prob say its bent the valves. Im preety sure the spi's are not valve safe.

have another go at timing the cambelt before you start ripping it to bits.

If you have access to a compression tester, you could do that
