Tom Walkinshaw RIP. Had cancer. Those of you who don't know, had a hand in btcc (remember the Volvo 850 t5??!!) and F1.

Put a fair bit of money into rugby aswell IIRC.

its strange to see all the good drivers of my time slowly slip away all the hard work they put into motor sport and no one says anything in the papers or the news

rip to a talented man !

Very sad news :(

He went to the same high school I did, my grandad knows the family and I guess I followed his path down the country quite closely.

Another true motorsport legend gone!

tom walkinshaw was a very good driver, and then got involved in preparing & running cars...the rovers, jag xjs, the xjr group c & imsa racers, the volvo btcc cars, arrows f1.
he will also be remembered for some very dubious happenings.... he was at benetton when the infamous refueling fire took place, arrows ended up going bust in a huge fashion as did the twr group of companies. they were building cars for people, components, tuning & styling stuff for manufacturers, as well as the twr jaguar official stuff......

he ended up running v8 aussie touring cars & doing very well.

A sad loss to motoring, the BigC takes no prisoners, and is no respecter of age, creed, or ability.

Yes, for all of the good things he did, there was the other side of Tom.
His Rover team lost a championship through cheating too.

It has been said, that this is the first time that Tom's "lied straight" in years.

Actually I'm lectured by Geoff Goddard who tends to talk about his good friend quite often as he's an enthusiastic man that loves rambling off on tangents and clearly had a lot of respect for Tom. Now you can **** off back to the hole you crawled out of tbh, I believe you left your respect in it.

in the final season at arrows, it was staffed by the sort of people who couldn't run a bath, let alone an f1 team, as their majority sponsor was some bookmaking company that actually had no money, so arrows had to let a lot of people go, it caused the demise of twr holdings.... i know a bloke who worked there too....
