Soda Blasting

anyone got any hints tips or cheats on this?
looking at getting a smallish blaster to do odd jobs with, seams to leave surfaces very undamaged, mainly the only web info i find is the sales guff and that wont tell me of any downsides?

Its ment to be very good mate, i seen a display for a soda blasting company at billing, and they had done a fg panel and it came up realy well.

the sales guff says its safe to use on engine areas to due to not being as abrasive as sand or shot ( obivously this doesnt give me the idea to use it to remove head gasket material etc, that would be silly )

probably the hardest thing id use it for would be wheels.

It really is the same as shot/ sand/ grit blasting, its just that the soda crystels (sp) are finer and going to do less damage, also iam sure it leaves a residue on whatever it touches, which can stop moisture on the panel ?

Iain, the sales bumf says the same thing about leaving a residue that protects from flash rusting and is easily washed of with water,

I'm mainly looking at it for cleaning my engine as I'm to lazy to do it by hand lol.
