nostalgia...... nostalgia......
i remember when nostalgia was new
I remember when you were humorous. Actually I don't personally, but the forefathers of novaload and pngclub tell of such tales. :)
seriously, i hated those games on such wondrous things as the commodore 64, dragon 32, zx spectrum and the bbc micro..... 45 minutes to load the game on a cassette tape, and they were not fast & furious games.... i once played hitch hikers at a friends & it took us about 4 hrs to get as far as the spaceship, then couldn't save it, so next time we had to start again....
i preferred platform & space invader type games, and my particular fave was chuckie egg.... the graphics weren't great, but the playability was pretty good..
Boooo dont knock the 48k spectrum, my formative years were spent listening to the wooooooo-wiiiiiirrrrrrrr-waakkkaakkkaaa-wweeeeeeee of the speccy tapes loading, horace goes skiing was a favourite and my mate had 'turbo-esprit' i was sooo jealous lol
*edit*
Awesomeness...

You're right they were crap. have a sort of retro curiosity about them now though.
As Lee says, I watch The big bang theory. I don't play these things usually. lol
Galaxian was always a fave of my early days.
we used to copy games on a mates amstrad twin tape tower......
i have pictures of myself and my cousins fighting over the original atari 2600 when it was still fairly new
/\ why was it so you didn't have to play with it???

Ours still works too, we have the 'entertainment system' as it had the light gun and mario/duck hunt in one cartridge game lol
did you like to say duck-hunt really quickly so it sounded rude???

Thats the one I have now,the gun only works on old 'fish-bowl' tv's, good job I'm a pikey and won't upgrade lol

Thats not a 48k
Thats a 128k
This is 48k.... rubber keys baby!!!
http://www.netambulo.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/spectrum.jpg
the 128+2 had a cassette and the +3 had disks!
We had a 48k, and used to hack the games, I had a football manager game (called 'the boss' i think) and I hacked it so I could have more money!!
Me and my bro would start it loading, then quietly leave the room and leave it loading. half the time youd come back and find it had error'd :(
I was always led to believe that was also a 48k one aswell, the 128 didnt come out till it had the built in tape recorder and iirc came with a james bond game as standard:d

I think you could be right, I think the one you pictutred was called the spectrum+, but still had 48k.
There was a 128k that looked identical to the one you pictured, the 128k+2 had the cassette built in.
Oooh i dont remember the 129k one, i know we have had ours (the one i pictured) as long as i can remember now, and i was fairly sure twas only a 48 lol

I used to love the duck hunt game! Although that may have been more due to the bright orange gun lol I lived with my nan for years so she always had loads of awesome retro consoles and games around.

I may still have an Amstrad CPC 464 upstairs somewhere, for those who don't know it was also a tape loaded machine, Bruce Lee & Le Man's 24 Hour were my faveourite games on that (that I can remember).

Oh its old, green screen ftl too, used to kill my eyes after a while lol
^ I had one. Got a tenner for it at the boot sale! lol
I was considering keeping the printer to use as a murder weapon.
I'm disappointed in that nostalgic console site mind. Master System II's were for fags, and Alex the kid was gay.

I heard Mario paid King Koopa to take him severly from behind when noone was looking lol

They were never for me like. lol
Me either i preferred 'Turtles' and 'Ghostbusters' lol
Aye. Was just talking about the Turtles the other day. My mate (older) said they were "Crap and American". Fail. lol
They even had a cool van! :d
I remember them too, one of my mates is still (or was recently) into wrestling, he's 25  should I tell him its all fake? lol
W.T.F was fake but also FTW.

I can see the stains from your tears, and a lack of joy pads means they were snapped in pre-pubescent rage by a less than happy Pete. lol
