Started stripping the Y reg today that I bought on Ebay to donate the floor for my Spider rebuild.

I removed the carpet (which was bone dry!) and then lifted out the sound deadening.

This is a video of the padding that is under the carpet about a minute after I had hung it up to dry (I have some padding on a roll to cut out a new section of this, so I need this for a template)

These things hold so much water! Worth checking on your car if you use it daily!

My E30 cab was VERY bad for this. I took out the carpet to clean it and it was soaking underneath. Left it outside in the sun with the roof down to dry out and eventually started to after a week.

My first saloon was like this due to a rotten battery tray, cured it by pushing the drain plugs out of the floor pan
