Nova ignition switch wires

Trying to rewire my Nova ignition barrel switch to a Corsa one. Plan to cut and crimp the wires when I work out which is which, Corsa and Nova colours match up which is good.

Here's what happens from my testing.

Ign off:
Red: 12v
Black: -
Black: -
Red/black: -

Pos. 1:
Red: 12v
Black: -
Black: -
Red/black: -

Pos. 2:
Red: 12v
Black: 12v
Black: 12v
Red/black: -

Pos. 3 (cranking):
Red: 12v
Black: ? (Didn't test as it involved cranking engine)
Black: ? (Didn't test as it involved cranking engine)
Red/black: 12v

I was expecting one black to come on at pos 1, and the other at pos2, so how do I tell them apart? And whats the point in position 1?

I donth think it matters.. You will need to look on a diagram,.. one is for the coil etc and the other is for the radio and that..

Rewire the radio into position 1.. Much better!

I've just done a continuity test, both are bridged against the red +ve on pos 2, however when you move the key to pos 3 (cranking) one stays bridged and the other is cut off.

Balley is that actually possible to do since I can't work out anything going to 12v on pos 1?

So as far as I can see there's no point to pos 1, other than maybe steering column lock?
