eat also goes throught spark plugs too. i know its running well too rich.

Ever though you might also have a fuel leak...

I had a similar problem with a e16se and it turned out to be a defective fuel regulator.
It wasent letting the fuel return to the tank and resulted in too much pressure at the injectors very rich and bad mpg
But with this said its the only one ive ever know to fail
ive checked for leaks and found non, ill have a look at that mate, cheers
i had 1.2 corsa do the same couldnt figure it out so sold it lol
Sensor you mention is the MAP sensor - if it's faulty, wiring bad or you have a split in the vacuum hose it will fuel badly....very badly.

nica one pal. im guna get one on monday, it can stay parked up til then ha
They won't be cheap ( i have one you can have for cheapness if you do need one) - check the hoses and wiring first IME the sensors are pretty robust.
MAP sensor sounds to be the fault.. If it aint working they normally run rich, also if the pipe is split it will do too!
there £16 on ebay :thumb:

Nice find, though I was talking genuine GM.

GM didnt make them - they are a universal part iirc - found on many other cars - Renaults etc...

 It will be made by one of the well known GM suppliers however this is the sensor from my old C14SE...you'll see it's clearly marked as GM, it's not a generic part. I used to have one from a Daewoo also and that had their logo on the underside - to buy one you would have to part with a chunk of cash at Vauxhall/Chevrolet(Daewoo). The one in the ebay link is not a genuine GM item whch was the only point I was making.

it could be a bad airflow sensor
how long have you owned it? has it got an eBay +20bhp, adjustable, non-adjustable, in car, under bonnet bore-washing chip fitted? installed by someone who 'knows about cars'? not unheard of
If it's running rich enough to eat plugs fairly fast you need to stop driving until it's sorted, you could end up making things a lot worse.
Are all 4 plugs equally soaked? if not it may be an injector fault
it could be a bad airflow sensor
C14 doesn't have an AFM it uses a MAP sensor

mark69...
did you sort this out?
my sri is the same now!! guna give the map sensor a go i think, is the ebay one any good? will it work as good as a gm part?
many thanks glen.
Should be fine. To be honest for the price doesn't really matter if it doesn't last 15 years like the OEM one lol
i havnt sorted it mate, its parked up most of the time now ha
im just guna find another engine i think....
