View Full Version : C20xe Oil breather Question
Hey guys,
on a c20xe, the two small ventilation/over flow pipes coming out of the rocker cover. the small one i can put to the atmos!
what about the larger one - i ask because on my inlet manifold (weber 45) i have a hole which i think is an oil hole, can i plumb the breather into the manifold?
now getting some pics

I thought it should go to a catch tank then to atmos or if your on a budget an old fizzy pop bottle lol
Edit pics of said hole
the hole on the inlet will be for the servo vac. Cam cover breather or catch tank required.
That is a water hole rather than an oil hole if you mean the one near where the alternator slider should mount.
im not sure if my servo has a vacuum? i shall check lol.
The one next to the alt mount should go to the top of the header tank to bleed the system

the water goes on the under side?

WHS.
The one you show is for the water.

There should also be a nipple on that hole in the top with a water pipe going to the header tank.

Correct dude and the servo take off will be on the bulkhead side of the inlet manifold
Just putting a filter on the end of it will see oil running down your block especially if thrown from side to side

i dont think there are any more outlets/take offs on the inlet manifold?
should i be worried lol.
and i have a catch tank. just need to find somewhere to mount it lol.
ill try and get a pic of the inlet to show you :)
thanks alot for the help, plus rep coming everyones way :D
What inlet do you have? some have to be drilled and tapped for the servo take off. Actually, do you have a servo? lol
SBD high end one,
7 degree also

It would be on the left hand side in that picture if it did have, depends whether your servo needs one but its not the end of the world either way, I'd find some where for the catch tank to go like on the inner wing or something like that and then put a small filter on that, also the water pipe you have highlighted is quiet essential as its the highest point in the coolant system and if blanked off can cause the system to stay filled with air
so say my servo has a vacuum and my inlet doesnt... what do i do. just tap into the inlet? anywhere? or blank the servo?
and ok excellent, i will get a fitting for it. and get a hose on there :)
thanks so much
If the servo needs one I'd contact SBD and ask their advise, I wouldn't blank it off as the servo will be redundant, most people just tap the inlet on the far right hand side but I've heard this can effect the balance, I have seen them done off all four with one-way valves so not to effect the balance.
going from memory mine had a blank on the side of runner 4 that had to be drilled and tapped to fit the union for the servo.
ok thanks guys i will have a look and call SBD in the morning :)
